What is Dermabrasion?
Dermabrasion is one of the different skin rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment methods available. It is an exfoliating technique that consists of removing the outer layers of skin using a rotating instrument, usually on the face.
It is a mechanical ablation, meaning it is a procedure for removal or destruction of body tissue. This surgical scraping method serves to soften skin surface irregularities. It requires to numb the skin with anesthesia. The patient will go home for recovering after the treatment.
This treatment exposes new layers of skin that looks smoother and younger. The treated skin will look swollen and pink and the patient will feel like it is burning. The skin is expected to fully heal in about three months.
Whom is it addressed to?
The dermabrasion is used by people who wish to improve the look of their skin, treating conditions like scars produced by acne, uneven texture, fine wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, scars from injury or surgery, tattoos, uneven skin tone, precancerous skin patches, redness and delicate think nose skin.
